SHY ZIP® CTS rooflight blinds can operate in a vertical or horizontal position and at any angle in between, drawing upwards, downwards, or sideways.
The heart of the system is SHY’s specially designed zipper ribbon which is welded to the edges of the blind fabric to create a super-strong join.
The zipper ribbon is securely held in a shaped plastic inner rail which allows the blind to run freely and quietly but prevents the fabric from being pulled out of the inner rail.
A single motor system is used, located inside the cloth tube, encased in our extruded aluminium head boxes. The box at the other end of the blind contains spring boxes that pull the fabric under tension.
Ideal for shading smaller glazed areas, these systems are used in
many commercial installations as well as high-end domestic situations.
They are ideal when building occupants need to control the amount
of light, glare and heat attributable to the skylight. Utilising a wide
choice of blind fabrics, every level of shading, through to full dim-out
can be achieved.
Hardware can be powder coated to any RAL colour (standard colours
are white and black) to suit existing surroundings.
Recommended shelf can be used to assist installation and running of
the blind.
SIDE CHANNELS
• 33x28mm side channels
• Flange-mounted or through mounted
• Zipper ribbon runs within the inner rails
HEADBOXES
• Standard headbox sizes are 85mm, 110mm
and 150mm square
• The choice of box depends on the size of
the blind, with larger blinds requiring larger
headboxes.
CONSTANT TENSION SPRING BOXES
• Up to 5kg of strength per box
• Ensures the fabric is kept under
tension to keep it taut as possible
• Pulls the blind across the opening
FABRIC
• Blackout – prevents or significantly reduces
the amount of light passing through the fabric
• Glass fibre and polyester screen – protect
against heat and glare of the sun
MOTORISED AND MANUAL CONTROL
• Radio control – remote or switch
• Hard wired – switch or integration into
control systems
• Battery powered (up to 2.5m wide and 2.48m
long)
• Crank handle (up to 2.7m wide and
3.6m long)
SHELF
• It is recommended that wherever possible,
roof blinds are orientated so the head boxes
point up to the glass with the cloth at the
lowest point, and if on show, that our shelf
system is used.
• Regardless of the opening, the blind can be
fitted square to ensure the best finish for the
fabric and long life for the blind as a whole.
